OUR SEASON 2011 STARTS APRIL 1st

No – this is a not an April fools day joke… we mean business and will start our operation on April 1st, with our ever popular tour NS-1 Húsavík Whale watching, starting once a day at 13:30 till April 30th.

Then gradually, we increase the number of tours throughout the summer season and plan to operate till October 20th.

On June 1st, we also start operating our NS-2 Whales, Puffins & Sails. This is a unique sailing tour that combines whale watching, bird watching and a sailing adventure aboard one of our two schooners.

During high season, our tours escalade up to 14 departure per day and we feel confident that with your help, summer of 2011 will be a very successful one – we welcome your clients to Húsavík for an unforgettable whale watching experience.

North Sailing expands operations

Entering its 17th year at the forefront of whale watching in Iceland, the year 2011 will be one of tremendous progress for North Sailing as plans to expand operations in North Iceland have been implemented.

Situated West of Húsavík, at the mouth of Eyjafjörður fjord, the quaint village of Ólafsfjörður has been chosen as new base for whale watching tours scheduled to start in summer 2011. Building on years of success in Húsavík operating environmentally friendly traditional Icelandic oak boats, North Sailing will run similar three-hour tours with daily departures in June, July and August.

Staying busy in the Marketing Department

North Sailing‘s marketing department kept busy during the harsh and snowy winter season by attending some of Europe‘s finest and important travel trade fairs, which have resulted in successful on going cooperation with many travel agencies selling tours to Iceland. New contacts were also established and old ones nourished by having a bit of fun as well. We look forward to a fruitful cooperation with all of you in the future.

North Sailing website wins the Icelandic Web Awards

The North Sailing website, www.northsailing.is, was recently awarded the Icelandic Web Awards. The award goes out annually, to the websites chosen each year for being excellent in their field or business. The jury consists of professionals who evaluate the candidates based on technical quality, appearance and usability.
