We opened the VCOM innovation series in our December Newsletter 2015. Since then, we have presented 12 special feature highlights.

We would like to thank you for your suggestions and the positive feedback. We view them as an incentive for further improvement. With every monthly release in the new year, you will receive innovative and helpful features that will facilitate your daily work and make the VCOM even more user friendly.

Easy handling thanks to the newly designed sidebar

With the help of the last feature in the innovation series, you gain space for your dashboards and increased performance in the VCOM. The newly designed sidebar replaces the portlet called “List of PV systems”. You can use it to select the desired filters that will then be used on all portlets. You can quickly enter the cockpit or the evaluation section of a system via the icons. With the shortcut key “L” (list), the sidebar can be easily shown and hidden.

New shortcuts for more efficiency

The new shortcuts facilitate faster movement in the VCOM - with the help of the December release, the desired page will be shown on the monitor with a click.

You can directly reach the control center by pushing the “H” key (home). The keys “F” (forward) and “B” (backward) are especially helpful for daily system checks: By using them, you can quickly jump to the next system or navigate back to the previous system.
One other thing:  The shortcut “?” (shift + / on English keyboards) will take you to the overview page of all shortcuts.

Standard user groups in the VCOM

The December release provides you with five predefined user groups in the VCOM which allow you to easily assign rights to new users.

You can choose from the following user groups:

• Administrator
• Operations
• Technician
• Customer
• Investor

You will find a detailed description in the administration interface on the “User Groups” page.

Every user group will simultaneously receive a predefined portlet configuration. New users can immediately start working after the setup process is completed – without any further configuration effort. Of course, the VCOM retains its high level of flexibility. The menu structure and the page content can still be individualized as before.

We will continue to offer our proven training on monitoring and hardware next year. We will also continue to provide the power control  trainings as a result of the good feedback and high demand.
