Dear Brewmaster,

Any chance you'll be expanding the line of beers which are bottled and canned? More specifically, any chance we'll get to see Outlaw Milk Stout in cans as ski season approaches?

Keep up the great work and thanks for all you do for the Reno area!

Cheers!
John

Hey John,

You read my mind... We're getting things prepped as I type for Outlaw to be released in cans. Keep an ear to the rail. We should have things set in the next month or so.

Cheers!

Tom

It’s a Craft Beer Christmas

We’re gearing up to give local craft beer fans an early Christmas with 4 new brew releases this holiday season. All of these special brews will be in limited quantities so enjoy them before they’re gone.

Deathwish
Available on tap and in 22 oz. bottles
ABV: 6.66% • IBU: 45 • Total Hop Character: High

This American style pale ale combines sweet caramel and toasty malt flavor with a backbone of tasty hop bitterness and pungent citrus hop aroma. A collaboration with Moment Ski Company of Reno, NV.

This brew pours with a gently hazy golden to light copper body. It gives off aromas of pine & spice, with herbal and grapefruit citrus. On the palette, it’s hop-forward with roasted caramel & biscuit flavors with accents of herbal, floral, spicy & citrus hops.

2014 Mayan Maybe Not
Available on tap and in 22 oz. bottles
ABV: 10.5% • IBU: 45 • Total Hop Character: Low

First brewed to celebrate the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012, this beer marries ingredients the Mayans cultivated – chocolate, jalapeño & habanero chiles, vanilla, honey, & maize with subtly-smoked malts. This brew pours a dark brown body with ruby highlights. It features aromas of chocolate, chilies, sweet caramel, and vanilla. On the palette, flavors of bittersweet chocolate, dark malts, spicy peppers with a hint of smokiness.

2014 Holiday Wassail Red Nose Ale
Available on tap and in 22 oz. bottles

Brewed starting our first year of operation in 1993, our Red-Nose Holiday Wassail has kept its base recipe each year – sweet, malt-forward with a substantial addition of local honey and a biscuity finish – but the spices have changed on our personal whims. This year we’ve included honey, coriander, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, orange peel, chamomile, woodruff, heather tips, elderflowers, maple, and vanilla. Each bottle is hand-bottled run of only 300 22 oz. bottles – each personally signed by our Brewmaster & Owner Tom Young.

"First Chair"
(Mt. Rose 50th Anniversary Beer)

Available on Tap 12/19/14 (Estimated)

For Mt. Rose's 50th Anniversary we have partnered to bring you a limited-edition Belgian White IPA. Featuring fruity hops with notes of tangelo, pineapple, and other tropical fruits upfront and a slightly bitter-sweet Belgian wit base. This beer will be served only at our restaurant locations and Mt. Rose Ski-Tahoe for the ski season. Look for special events and promotions at GBBC and Mt. Rose throughout the season including brand new Moment Deathwish Skis sporting a new Icky IPA look, season passes, and more.

The Outlaw struck again, this time during the recent Great American Beer Festival® (GABF) where Outlaw Milk Stout was awarded a bronze medal for Sweet Stouts. With this win Outlaw Milk Stout becomes Nevada’s single most award-winning beer.

“Outlaw Milk Stout is a beer that we started brewing 20 years ago and have worked tirelessly to perfect over the years,” said Brewmaster, Tom Young. “The result is an extremely smooth, deep, and complex beer that is best savored slowly. Everything we brew, we brew from the heart, and nothing shows that better than the Outlaw.”

On your next patrol to the beer store, keep your eyes peeled for this rogue character. Usually found in 6-packs, he often keeps company with other craft beers. If you make visual contact, engage and apprehend immediately.
