Master of Nursing Program

The School of Graduate Studies is excited to introduce the new Master of Nursing program. 

Interested applicants to this program may submit an application once the application opens and no later than February 1, 2015 to start in the Fall 2015 semester. 

The Master of Nursing program has been designed to meet the needs of Alberta licensed registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses with a BN degree. Potential students may be working in a variety of roles and wish to further their education to further their employment options. More

Scheduling of a PhD Thesis Defence

The Doctoral Policies and Procedures have been updated to reflect the change to the timeline for requesting the thesis oral defence. 

The Request for Thesis Examination form must now be submitted to the School of Graduate Studies at least 6 weeks prior to the proposed scheduled defence.

Did you know...

students in the MA, MSc, PhD, MFA, and MMus programs, can request a semester extension to their program by completing a Progress and Standing report that includes a detailed timeline to defence?

A revised Approved Program of Studies form will be provided, pending approval by the Dean, SGS.

 
 

e-Thesis Submission System Available

The University of Lethbridge Library and the School of Graduate Studies are excited to announce that the e-Thesis Submission system is now available for all graduate students in thesis-based programs.

Graduate students, supervisors, supervisory committee members, and Thesis Oral Defence chairs are strongly encouraged to review the revised thesis format regulations and e-thesis submission procedures outlined in each graduate program’s Policies & Procedures manuals.

Instructions for submitting a PDF copy of the final thesis document are available on the SGS website.

It aims to bring together students from all disciplines to create an opportunity to develop solutions to issues impacting reproductive health that are in accordance with the means and goals of WHO. Feminist Borders and Boundaries of Southern Alberta: Graduate Student Activists' Experiences

Congratulations to Master of Arts students Anastasia Sereda, Brittney Adams, Karissa Patton, and Jesse Couture whose panel was accepted into the upcoming Rural Women’s Studies Association conference at Texas State University!

Their panel is titled Feminist Borders and Boundaries of Southern Alberta: Graduate Student Activists’ Experiences and consists of:

Graduate Research Awards for Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-proliferation 2014-2015 

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Deadline for applications: October 14, 2014

The Graduate Research Awards for Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation are offered annually by The Simons Foundation and The International Security Research and Outreach Programme (ISROP) of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD).  The primary objective of the Awards is to enhance Canadian graduate level scholarship on disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation issues. More

 
 

Up to eight awards of Cdn$3,000 will be available to Canadian Masters and/or Doctoral students. 

This year, candidates will address issues related to Arms Control (WMD and conventional) in Conflict Zones and Non-permissive Environments; Non-proliferation and Disarmament; Space and Export Controls; and Nuclear Cooperation Agreements.

  • Deadline for applications: October 14, 2014
  • Selection of short-listed candidates: November 17, 2014
  • Deadline for position papers: December 15, 2014
  • Selection of eight award recipients: January 19, 2015
