Dear colleague

This month's edition of the ESA News is celebrating and promoting Connected Educator Month; a global event to encourage teacher collaboration and networking to enhance our profession and the provision of deep and meaningful learning for our students.

Belong, connect and reflect in Scootle Community

During Connected Educator Month we are encouraging all Australian educators to join the 20,000 strong Scootle Community, a social learning tool to share teaching and learning insights, questions, and resources. Read our blog-post 'Connected Educator Month - belong, connect, reflect' for information about events taking place throughout October.

Scootle update

In recent weeks Scootle has been updated to include search across additional learning and subject areas. Users can now browse up-to-date Australian Curriculum content descriptions for elaborations and Scootle resources across newly endorsed learning areas: Humanities and Social Sciences; The Arts; Technologies; and Health and Physical Education.

On-line assessment for Australian schools

Improve is a national on-line assessment tool that enables Australian teachers to create and distribute assessment tasks to measure and support their student’s learning. Teachers can access English, Mathematics and Science test banks, or use the service create their own. The platform delivers interactive on-line assessments, and generates immediate student progress reports and suggested learning resources based on the developmental needs of the student.
