Spring 2016 Registration

All new and continuing graduate students are required to register online via the Bridge every semester.

Registration for graduate students in the Spring 2016 term will open from November 16, 2015 to November 18, 2015 at and from December 14, 2015 to January 12, 2016.

PUBlic Professor Series—Dr. Olga Kovalchuk

This month's PUBlic Professor Series will feature Dr. Olga Kovalchuk, from the Department of Biological Sciences, as she discusses Epigenetics of Health and Disease: From Personalized Science to Personalized Medicine.

This event will be held on Thursday, October 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at City Hall. The event is free and there is no need to RSVP—for more information, please visit the Faculty of Arts & Science website.

Talking About Teaching: Reaching Outside the Classroom

All graduate students are invited to attend this "Talking About Teaching” event, and that your attendance at this event contributes to your GATD Certificate of Participation. 

There are numerous opportunities that the University provides for students to learn outside of the classroom. This may be via a co-op experience, internships, and applied studies, but also via opportunities that are extensions of the classroom such as: participating in theatrical productions, clinical work experiences, and community outreach work. Mitacs online workshops

Communicating Your Research: October 14 to 28
Practical Tips on Growing your Network: October 29 to November 12

Each workshop runs for a duration of 2 weeks and contains a series of videos, exercises, and content modules for the participants to cover. Participants can access the content and complete their exercises at any time during the 2 week duration.

Mitacs Discovering the Entrepreneur Within workshop

November 9, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., M4032

This workshop will reveal the resources available to you in the current Canadian entrepreneurial landscape, including funding sources. You will learn how to create a sound business plan and deliver a successful pitch, and you will analyze entrepreneurial success stories to see how others have reached their goals. You will then use your knowledge to create and present a product or service concept to the group and get instant feedback from your facilitator.

 
 

AGILITY Program

The AGILITY program aims to inspire innovation and entrepreneurship on campus, and we currently have two funding opportunities available to grad students:

In addition to these grants, AGILITY is also holding an Innovation Series that is composed of guest lectures and workshops hosted by renowned industry leaders. Their inaugural event will kick off on October 27 in Calgary and October 28 here in Lethbridge with Mr. Steve Cloutier, a serial energy start-up entrepreneur, to be their first speaker. The topic he will be discussing is “From Liberal Arts BA to Energy Start-up CEO: Lessons for Tomorrow’s Entrepreneur”.  More information on this event as well as how to register can be found on their website.
