Lynda Olin has joined WSU Vancouver as a research proposal coordinator to help faculty with all stages of the grant proposal writing process. CMDC students invite you to “A Radio Christmas Carol” and “Move, Touch, Feel”
Students in the Creative Media and Digital Culture program are hosting two events beginning at 7 p.m. Dec. 18 in downtown Vancouver.
The first, “A Radio Christmas Carol,” is a live radio performance of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” by the Willamette Radio Workshop under the direction of Sam A. Mowry. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the performance begins at 7 p.m. at the Kiggins
Theatre at 1011 Main Street, Vancouver, Wash. Before the show, the Hough School Glee Singers, directed by Anson L. Service, and the Holly Jolly Singers will sing. The event is open to the public and free with a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Clark County Food Bank.
After the live radio performance, guests are invited next door to the Nouspace Gallery & Media Lounge for “Touch, Move, Feel” an exhibit of interactive art, poetry and sound installations by students and faculty of the CMDC program. Guests will also get a preview of the interactive installation that graduating CMDC students have created for the Mount St. Helens Science & Learning Center at Coldwater Creek.
Holocaust survivor to speak on campus
iTech Preparatory has invited staff and faculty to join their staff and students for a presentation by a Holocaust survivor. The talk will be held 2 – 4 p.m. Dec. 19 in the Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110.
Taking paws to cope with finals
Therapy dogs were on hand last week to offer students a dog fix while they studied for finals. The pre-finals stress relief clinic featured certified therapy dogs Mukaluka Dirtypaws, Ted and Fazzy and their owners from the Columbia River Pet Partners. ASWSUV and the Student Activities Board coordinated the event.

In March 2015 the WSU Libraries will host the second annual Crimson Reads: A Celebration of WSU Faculty Authors. Submissions for authored/co-authored or edited books (including e-books) published between Jan. 1, 2014 and Dec.

Carrying hand-lettered signs that read "Black lives matter" and "We the people," about 75 students, staff and faculty gathered in front of the library at Washington State University Vancouver on Wednesday to speak out about police treatment of black men.
"Any time someone is abused by the system, they have a right to stand up for themselves," she told Carolyn N. Long of Washington State University Vancouver. Mapp also told Long she never got back the pornographic books that touched off her case.
