The Three Minute Thesis (uLethbridge3MT) is back by popular demand!

Imagine trying to condense years of complex research and fieldwork into one-slide and a three-minute thesis. That’s the challenge (and opportunity) presented to graduate students in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT), an exciting academic competition that assists current graduate students with fostering effective presentation and communication skills.

Information sessions will be held:

  • 19 January 2015, 12-1pm in TH173
  • 21 January 2015, 4-5pm in AH118
  • 22 January 2015, 2-3pm in TH173

Animal Research Ethics Workshop

When: Monday, Jan 26, 9-10am
Where: B640

Workshop participants will be given a brief overview of the Canadian Council on Animal Care, and its role in oversight of the ethical use and care of animal in science throughout Canada.  Participants will also be introduced to the internationally accepted tenet of the Three Rs (Replacement, Reduction and Refinement) that guides those using animals for scientific purposes. More

 
 

Human Ethics Workshop

When: Friday, Jan 23, 9-10am

You are invited to learn about the three ethical principles outlined in the Tri-Council Policy Statement and the role of the University ethics committees in supporting a framework of respect and mutual understanding between the researcher and research participants so that their respective roles, rights, and responsibilities can be properly understood. E-Thesis Submission

You are encouraged to review the revised thesis format regulations in the Policies & Procedures manuals.

E-thesis submission procedures for submitting a PDF copy of the final thesis document are available on the SGS website.

Questions regarding the e-thesis system should be directed to sgs@uleth.ca.

 
 

Opting-out of the U-Pass Program:

UofL graduate programs includes students that are not on campus, and thus could not benefit from the U-Pass program.

For this reason, a set of criteria have been agreed upon to allow these students to voluntarily opt-out of the program. More

 
 

SSHRC Storytellers

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Storytellers contest is now accepting applications.

This contest is open to students who are pursuing research funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

Dr. Helen Kelley named Associate Dean, SGS

Congratulations to Dr. Helen Kelley (MSc (Mgt) '94, Mgt '93), who has been appointed to a three-year term as associate dean of the School of Graduate Studies, effective January 1, 2015.

Dr. Kelley is a tenured associate professor in the Faculty of Management, in the areas of Information Systems and Policy and Strategy. She has served in a number of administrative roles related to graduate education at the University and her research program focuses on e-health and wellness. Dr. Kelley is also a founding member of the University of Lethbridge Health Services Quality Institute.

President's Grant for International Community Engagement

The President's Grant for International Community Engagement seeks to encourage greater interest in, and understanding of, less developed countries by supporting students who are interested in participating in international development work.

The grant will provide up to $5,000 for students to spend an extended period of time (at least 3 months) working in a paid or volunteer role in a developing country.
