Dear Touring Venue Partners

We hope that you are well during this unsettling time.  All our thoughts are with those in Victoria as we all continue do our best to respond to the public health crisis and keep our staff, collaborators and visitors safe.

The support and commitment coming from all parts of the country to keep our touring programs open and on track has been so appreciated. In particular, I would like to acknowledge and thank Bridget Purtill, and the team at Glasshouse Port Macquarie, for being first cab off the rank with our new ADC On Tour exhibition Made/Worn: Australian Contemporary Jewellery.  We were unable to test launch the exhibition as planned in March here at ADC due to the Covid-19 closure. There were lots of issues, that would normally have been ironed out before the first tour venue, that Bridget and her team handled so professionally launching the exhibition earlier this month.

We are looking forward to launching Obsessed: Compelled to make at Cowra Regional Art Gallery this weekend and Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft \ Prue Venables at Canberra Potters in August.

Achieving development funding this year for two new exhibitions was a fantastic result and we look forward to being in touch with you individually about these future projects.

We are always keen to talk to you about any ideas you have on how we can provide you with the best ADC On Tour experience so please don’t hesitate to contact me, Fiona Pulford or any member of the ADC team at any time.

Stay well and safe and all my thoughts are with you as you navigate this challenging time.

Lisa Cahill
CEO and Artistic Director

Made/ Worn: Australian Contemporary Jewellery

Glasshouse Regional Gallery, Port Macquarie
30 June – 16 August

From intimate pieces to large scale works, the contemporary jewellery in Made / Worn: Australian Contemporary Jewellery explores the act of making and how jewellery is worn on the body, telling stories that start with the artist and continue through the life of the object worn or experienced, creating new resonances with owners into the future.

Celebrating diversity and inclusivity, the exhibition includes the work of 22 artists working in contemporary jewellery in Australia today. You may be surprised by some of the things in this exhibition – they do not all immediately occur as jewellery – but rest assured the definition of contemporary jewellery is broad and encompasses many things that evoke a sense of the personal and the memorable along with the melange of human emotions swirling within all of us.

Artists featured: Liam Benson | Julie Byfield | Helena Bogucki | Zoe Brand | Maree Clarke | Jess Dare | Anna Davern | Bin Dixon-Ward | Sian Edwards | Emma Fielden | Lola Greeno | Pennie Jagiello | Bridget Kennedy | Inari Kiuru | Grace Lillian Lee | Vicki Mason | Claire McArdle | Tiffany Parbs | Blanche Tilden | Catherine Truman | Manon van Kouswijk | Zoë Veness |
