Shh! Silence helps homophobia. LGBT Youth Scotland launched its new Education Campaign in March, Shh! Silence helps homophobia. Central to this campaign is the Shh! Silence helps homophobia film, which has been funded by the Fife Cultural Partnerships Fund. For more information, please click here.

EHRC Survey on Bullying, Harassment and Prejudice in Scottish Schools. The Equality and Human Rights Commission in Scotland is conducting a project exploring prejudice-based harassment and bullying in Scottish secondary schools both staff and students are encourgaed to participate. More information available here.

Response to Equally Safe consultation: Over 80 responses have been received from a wide range of partners across the voluntary and public sectors to the draft strategy to tackle violence against women and girls. These are currently being considered and will be used to help shape and strengthen the strategy before it is published in Summer 2014.

Violence Against Women: An EU-wide survey: The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights conducted face-to-face interviews with 42,000 women to establish the prevalence of violence against women across the EU. Read our summary here.

Cyber bullying 'culture' needs to change. Back in March Laura Tomson of Zero Tolerance told MSPs at the Education and Culture Committee that "the culture is what needs to change" when tackling cyber bullying. Full details available here.

Former MSP Bill Walker freed from jail after serving domestic abuse sentence. The former Dunfermline MSP Bill Walker has been freed from jail after serving half of his 12-month sentence for domestic abuse. The 71-year-old was found guilty of offences against three former wives and a stepdaughter.
