ILFSN March Bulletin: CEO update, event news No images? Click here Scholar in Focus: Tania Jolley (ILF 2019) CEO and Co-Founder DNA Security SolutionsInfluence and Negotiation Strategies Program, Stanford Graduate School of Business, USA DNA Security Solutions is an advanced electronics engineering company. It is a recognised pioneer and global leader in forensic criminal marking technology. Blending forensic science with advanced electronic technologies, we have solved the missing link that currently exists in traditional security technologies; being a lack of accurate identification of the criminal once they have fled the scene. Top 3 ILF Learnings: When negotiating, first consider what the other person is likely to want from the process. This will allow you to understand them and achieve a better result. The best result is where everyone wins. The most valuable thing I walked away with was my networks. We had a fabulous year and all alumni are still connected and active on What’s App, supporting each other and continuing to share learnings. Broadening my professional networks overseas has always been high on my priorities, and my ILF grant has been another amazing opportunity to keep growing this. What’s next for our industry: We are still waiting for much of the community to catch up with our technology; getting potential customers to understand the risk of criminal attack and what that could cost them is quite a challenge. We believe a proactive risk management response is always more cost effective than waiting for the attack and contacting us once the horse has bolted. So for us, we continue to focus on educating industry sectors to enable them to understand this impact and cost on their business. Additional to this is looking for other technologies that we can collaborate with. Instant verification technology is the next logical step for our industry, although this could still be ten plus years away. From the CEO Geoff VogtWelcome to our ILFSN March Bulletin. You’ll notice it has undergone a refresh, however it will continue to keep you updated with ILF news and be sent to you on the first Tuesday of each month. While it has been slimmed down to suit busy Scholars, we’ve retained all your favourite sections. You'll be able to read about and register for upcoming events, learn more about our skilled colleagues in Scholars In Focus, stay up-to-date with Scholars in the Media and we will continue to provide summaries and social photos of past events. This month we feature Tania Jolley, one of the newest members of the Scholars committee. She is the founder of an amazing business which has the potential to change the way evidence can be linked to perpetrators of crimes, leading to higher rates of successful prosecutions. We’re pleased to highlight the many achievements of ILF Scholars each month. Don’t forget to provide us with copies of articles about your business. Scholars’ high level of interest for this section is proof that they want to hear about your achievements as much as you want to see theirs. As always, please look out for our upcoming events listed below and use the provided links to register. We have only a few places left for the Machine Learning Event on Wednesday, 10 March . You can find out more information about the event or register here.> As part of the refresh, we have enlisted the assistance of experienced journalist, Heather Kennett, to curate our news. She will also be activating an ILF LinkedIn presence, to increase our communication channels. Please connect with us when you are sent an invitation this month.
