Fowey Festival of Words and Music – 8th – 18th May
A truly diverse range of events will be happening at Fowey festival this May - ranging from opera, to jazz to Ken Livingstone. There are also secret river cruises, guided walks, workshops and even a few comedians. An event for everyone in a beautiful area.
St Ives Literature Festival – 11th – 18th May
It seems May is the month for culture in Cornwall, as St Ives will also be hosting a fantastic festival that will see 9 days of poetry readings, workshops, book launches and live music. Come along for the best in writing talent from the local areas and further afield.
St Ives Food and Drink Festival – 18th – 19th May
Once you’ve had your fill of words why not stay in St Ives for your fill of food? Porthminster beach will play host to the best local and national chefs and the finest flavours and tastes of Cornwall. Said to be the only beach food festival, the two days will see oyster tasting, champagne sampling and even food foraging walks – delicious!
Polo on the beach, Newquay – 18th - 19th May
The country’s best polo players will descend on Watergate this May for Veuve Cliquot’s polo tournament. Come along for live music, explanations and demonstrations of a sport no one really understands and of course plenty of champagne on the sand – tally ho!
