Volunteering successes in 2012-13
This last academic year we have hosted nearly two dozen enthusiastic individual volunteers (along with a very large number of volunteer groups that you can read about in our other updates).
Our volunteers have almost all taken part in some secondary teaching, supported and guided by our caring staff and the copious resources and materials that have facilitated their efforts. But many have brought other skills to bear during their placements in the way of sports training, computer help (for both students and teachers), photographic techniques, teaching support and discussion, etc.
So here's a complete round up of all our volunteers over that period! We are so grateful for everything they've been doing to change lives through education!

Calum's footballing success
Calum Erskine recently returned from a thoroughly successful time in Ethiopia with us. He worked with groups of youngsters providing them with extra football coaching, having previously arranged the provision of kits and equipment to support the teams on a longer-term basis.
"In my short time on this earth, never have I met a set of students who were as polite and respectful to their coaches. One of the best experiences of my life."
Read his reflections here.
Calum was able to support our youngest football team in Bishoftu and they recently won gold in a local tournament! Watch the team's celebrations.

This is the second year we have partnered with Pembroke College students and we really hope this relationship continues to develop and grow into the future! Read about their work here.
