Thanks to all who donated to the Cougar Food Pantry food drive last month. About 450 food items were collected to keep the shelves stocked through the end of the year.
The food pantry offered Thanksgiving fixings to students in need for the first time. Fourteen students were provided everything they needed for a holiday feast—from a turkey and pumpkin pie to
stuffing and potatoes. The holiday meals were made possible by a generous community member’s donation, funding from ASWSUV and food donations from Student Affairs staff.
The benefit to students in need is real. One Thanksgiving meal recipient said, "The Cougar Food Pantry has been amazing. I am a nontraditional student with a family. I am also a first-generation college student. Without programs such as these, I wouldn’t be able to make it. Thank you is not enough. Thank you so much!”
The Cougar Food Pantry’s resource guide offers information on local resources—from food banks to housing assistance—and is available to anyone in need. Spread the word!
