SurPASS Tip of the Month NIH Will Continue to Accept Preliminary Data as Post-Submission Material Through May 2021 Council
Clinical Research Tip of the Month: New Process for IRB Fee Billing
MCW IRB Fee Billing is now processed through iLab for IRB Reviews that take place Oct. 1 and after. This new process applies to 1) industry-sponsored for-profit research projects that meet the NIH definition of a clinical trial; 2) administrative review fees for projects deferred to another IRB; and 3) projects where MCW is serving as the single IRB of record for multi-site research. Fee amounts will remain the same; this change only applies to the billing process.
W. M. Keck Foundation Research Program
$500,000 - $5M over a period of 1-5 years
Phase I Applications Due Date: (June Grant Cycle) November 2The Research Program seeks to benefit humanity by supporting projects in two specific areas
(1) medical research and (2) science and engineering, that are distinctive and novel in their approach, question the prevailing paradigm, or have the potential to break open new territory in their field. An internal selection committee will review and papers and select one nominee from MCW.
The objective of the AGA Research Foundation Research Scholar Award (RSA) is to support early-career investigators working toward independent and productive research careers in digestive diseases by ensuring that a major proportion of their time is protected for research (i.e., a minimum of 75 percent effort dedicated to the proposed project). The award will support junior faculty (not fellows) who have demonstrated exceptional promise and have some record of accomplishment in research.
AHW Collaborative Research for Improved Health
$1 million available to support 4 meritorious MCW-led collaborations, 2-3 years in length
LOI Application Due: November 16, 2020AHW’s Call for Collaborative Research for Improved Health aims to foster collaborations along the T0-T5 spectrum to support research that addresses Wisconsin’s health needs. Projects should lead to health improvements for Wisconsin communities either as a direct result of the proposed research (immediate improvement to human health), or as a result of longer-term research plans (eventual improvement to human health that could not occur without important advancements in the scientific field).
AHW Innovations to Advance Wisconsin’s Health Workforce
$500,000 available to support 2 meritorious MCW-led collaborations, 2-3 years in length
LOI Application Due: November 16, 2020AHW’s Call for Innovations to Advance Wisconsin’s Health Workforce aims to support projects to develop innovative and sustainable programs, tools, and resources to advance Wisconsin’s current and future health research, health care, and community health improvement workforces. The Pablove Foundation invites pediatric cancer researchers to apply for our Powered by Pablove Seed Grant Program, which provides an award of $50,000 to conduct innovative, cutting edge investigations, with preferences going toward less common childhood cancers. Our seed grants serve to advance the work of our researchers to qualify for larger grants, federal funding and clinical trial. The Pablove Foundation is interested in principal investigators who will join us in taking risks, pushing for new solutions, and harnessing the transformative power of science in their research.
Authors may submit one or more abstracts for consideration for oral, quick shot, or poster presentations at the Annual Meeting. Abstract should be 500 words or less and include one table or one figure.
