President signs bill funding the federal government until December 7, 2018

WASHINGTON—On Sept. 28, President Trump signed HR 6157, a bill that makes appropriations for the Defense and Labor-Health and Human Services & Education along with a continuing resolution to extend funding for the other federal government agencies until after the elections on December 7, 2018, effectively preventing a government shutdown. This continued funding resolution applies to the seven remaining appropriations bills that have not yet been passed by Congress including the appropriations bill for Interior, Environment and Related Agencies. The Senate and the House have passed their version of the appropriations bill for Interior, Environment and Related Agencies. However, they have yet to agree on a final bill. Congress will likely continue the work on these bills after the elections in November.
