Entrepreneurs' Forum: Business Secretary Vince Cable chaired the second meeting of his Entrepreneurs' Forum, a group which provides informal and personal advice on new business and enterprise policies.

Agency workers' rights: The Government published guidance to help employers prepare for the introduction of new rights for agency workers later this year.

HE policy: Universities and Science Minister David Willetts has responded to reports about "off-quota" university places.

Regulation & competition

Competition Commission: Vince Cable announced the appointment of Roger Witcomb as Chair of the Competition Commission on an interim basis for a term of two years.

Pheonix Four: The four former directors of Phoenix Venture Holdings Limited and MG Rover Group Limited, also known as The Phoenix Four, have each undertaken not to act in the management of limited companies for varying periods, of between three and six years. The disqualification undertakings conclude the enforcement action by The Insolvency Service on behalf of the Government.
