Joyce Foam Products

Leading interior designer Arthur Koutoulas and GECA licensee Joyce Foam Products collaborated to create the Speaker Space at this year’s DENFAIR in Melbourne. The aim of the design was to explore the boundaries between furniture and architecture.

Hard Surfacing

We're seeking input from industry professionals including, consultants, academics and environmental organisations on the revision of our GECA 40-2008 – Hard Surfacing standard. Hard surfacing categories include (but are not limited to): natural stone, agglomerated stones, concrete paving units, terrazzo tiles, ceramic tiles, clay tiles, and glass tiles. The standard is open for public comment until 25 August 2018.

GBCA Launches Green Star FAQ Service

The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has launched a free FAQ service to answer general and technical questions about Green Star. GECA was the first ecolabel recognised under the Green Star program, back in 2001.

Introducing a Marketplace for Sustainable Solutions – The Green List

The Fifth Estate has launched a new website that blends the functionality of a directory with the engagement and visual appeal of a great magazine. This new platform, called The Green List, is a curated expert guide bringing sustainable products and services to a highly engaged audience.

Banksia Sustainability Awards ~ Closing Soon!

This year the Banksia Foundation's Sustainability Awards are based around the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The awards will recognise and reward achievements made by Australians locally, nationally and internationally. GECA Standard is Strengthening Trust in Recycling 

According to Recycling Programs Manager at Planet Ark, Ryan Collins, GECA's Waste Collection Services Standard has the ability to renew confidence in recycling amongst Australians. This standard is the first in a suite of waste standards GECA aims to develop in order to promote and reward best practice waste management.

FRONT
9 - 10 August

Created by Indesign Media Asia Pacific and Architecture and Design - FRONT is a first-of-its-kind commercial specifier event. Held at Sydney's Carriageworks, the 2-day event will include a seminar series along with exhibitors from interiors and building products suppliers. We're delighted that GECA licensees will be exhibiting, including CSR Gyprock, Mafi Australia (Kebony) and Rockcote.

Australian Industrial Ecology Conference
19 - 21 September

GECA's Operations & Finance Manager, Sarah Sannen, will be presenting "Solutions on Waste" at the 7th Australian Industrial Ecology Conference to be held in Parramatta. The theme for this year's conference will be connecting manufacturers, recyclers and consumers. Earlybird registration discounts close on 14 August.
