2014 Elections Are Behind Us, Now What?

by:  Pam Hess

I know...who wants to think about what needs to be done now? I certainly would like to shove my head in the sand and pretend now that the Republicans control the House and the Senate all is right with the world. But unfortunately that isn't the case. We have a President who will react to the election like a wounded animal. He will try to push his agendas through before January. Remember his phrase, “I have a phone and a pen”! As I mentioned before, the Republicans do control both the house and the senate. WE have to hold them accountable. Watch every move, listen to what they say, call or email them when they aren't doing the right thing. Remember, THEY work for YOU!
We can make the biggest impact on the local and state levels. Get involved, attend your county commission and school board meetings. Become “friends” with your representatives. A good “friend” tells you when you are making a mistake or doing something you might regret later. Don't forget...THEY work for YOU! We now have to get busy and stop Common Core. It is not good for our children, our county, state, or country.
President Obama has promised amnesty for the people that have invaded our country illegally. We have to put pressure on Washington to STOP any executive orders dealing with amnesty. Call your Congressman and Senators and tell them there can be NO Amnesty for illegals. Don't forget....THEY work for US! Not one Republican voted for Obamacare. Now people from both parties have seen how it has destroyed our healthcare system, being run by the IRS and prices are unaffordable and climbing, but there aren't any benefits. We don't know what all the consequences of the bill include, because it is constantly changing and they lie and cover up the truth of the bill and what is in it. Obama had the announcement for the price increase delayed until after the election. They came out in mid October last year but will not come out until the middle of November this year. So this is not over yet. Our Tea Party Board Members will be meeting to discuss how we want to move forward in 2015. Tell us what areas you thing we should concentrate on.If you would like to learn more about being on the board or just being more active with the Tea Party SPEAK UP! We need you all. Our job begins now! It is time for “We the People” to hold the people in Washington accountable. We
are responsible to hold their feet to the fire. Remember...THEY work for US!

Electric Bills are Going To Skyrocket??? "Free" Trade Agreements on Fast Track???

The North Central Florida Tea Party will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Jackie Taylor Building.

EPA proposed changes could cause our electric bills to double! Come out and hear Baynard Ward from Suwannee Valley Electric Co-op explain what the proposed changes are and what we can do!  Keith Dunn from JBS will do a presentation on the “free trade agreements” that could be voted on during the lame duck session. These agreements take away jobs and sovereignty.  We will have a flyer ready to hand out on Common Core, copies of the last editions of the American Patriot News and information on upcoming meetings. This is a great way to meet other like-minded people, get involved and help make a difference in all levels of government!  Please invite your friends and family!  These issues will affect everyone!

We meet at the Taylor Building, 128 SW Birley Ave. Lake City.  This is on the corner of Birley and U.S. 90; approx. 3 miles west of the I-75 interchange in Lake City.  For more information, call Sharon 386-935-0821 or go to:  www.ncftparty.org

Thank You!!

This is a time of year when we remember to be thankful;  the tea party is so thankful for the people who help make this organization strong!

Meetings/other events  There are countless hours spent "behind the scenes" to set up meetings and other events.  Many thanks to John L. for all the time he puts in to make our meetings a success.

Concerned Veterans for America Phone Banking  This has been a win-win for our tea party and CVA.  They are an organization looking out for veterans and that is an important issue today with all the veterans coming home that need our help.  See:  veteran  for a sad story on why this is so important.

We have been making phone calls once a month on the issues that CVA is working on at that time; CVA is running an ad in the American Patriot News which is really helping with the printing costs.  Ed Foster has agreed to take over the Phone Banking for the next few months.  It is done on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the downtown Columbia County Library.  Chick-Fil-A is served at 5:30 and the phone banking begins at 6:00  If you would like to help out with this, please call Ed at 386-288-1688.  Many thanks to Ed for taking this on!!

American Patriot News  We are up to over 1,600 copies for this area!  Many thanks to Pam H. for doing the local page for us.  Also, to all the distributors who take their time to get the paper out in Lake City, Live Oak, Branford, Ft. White, Lake Butler , and now some in Gainesville.  If you can help with any of this (many times we need someone to deliver papers while someone is out of town) please let us know!  This is a great way to get stories out to the general public that are normally not covered in the local media..  We very much appreciate the advertisers; they are what is allowing us to keep printing!  If you know of a business who might want to advertise, or would allow us to put papers in their business, please let us know!

December Meeting - Party - Future Plans?

We are thinking about turning our December meeting into a party/planning session!  Would you be willing to bring a dessert or other snack if we furnish the coffee, tea, etc?  It will be a great chance to get to know each other better and to bring your ideas of what our tea party should work on in the coming year!  This would be held on the 2nd Thursday in December (the 11th).  Let us know if you would like to do this!  Please either call Sharon at 386-935-0821 or email at shiggins@windstream.net  and let us know!
