Editor's note

Sometimes a single fossil can completely change what we know about how creatures evolved. We know all birds lay eggs and so did the dinosaurs they evolved from. But a new discovery shows that other reptilian bird ancestors actually gave birth to live young, upending our idea of how this important reproductive trait has changed through history.
Taking LSD before going to work may sound like the worst idea ever but some professionals in Silicon Valley argue that tiny doses of psychedelic drugs can actually make you more creative and focused. Barbara Sahakian and colleagues take a look at the evidence behind the claim.
When the government announced that it would now only accept 150 more lone refugee children under the so-called Dubs scheme, it blamed a lack of capacity in local councils. But some London councillors say they have offered to take more children. As Justin Rogers explains, a lot is being done to find homes for unaccompanied children, but the government has given up trying.
All the best.
