![]() 2/14/19 Just over a year ago, I realized that I get very few chances to talk with my clients about creativity outside the context of our shared work, brand, and category. So I started a weekly(ish!) email where I share with them some of the cool things that have been inspiring me. After a lot of requests, I’m making it public. I hope it inspires you a little bit too. Looks like the Victorians have a few things to teach us about the art of shade throwing. These “vinegar valentines” made my day. In heavy rotation in my car these days: “Story Pirates” – a podcast where grown-ups turn kids’ stories into sketches and songs. It’s technically for kids, but I love it as proof that anything can become amazing if you throw your full energy behind it. And, like other delightful collabs, it reminds me that kids are always a great creative inspiration. This is one of the most fascinating (and depressing) things I’ve read in a while: The Lonely Life of a Yacht Influencer. If you’ve received my emails for any length of time, you know I’m fascinated by Fortnite.. But this (v long, but v interesting) article takes it to a whole new level, suggesting that Fortnite might be the key to unlocking the next evolution of the Internet – the Metaverse. Oh I am a sucker for a great Netflix extension. This one lets you watch Netflix and learn a new language at the same time. Bonus: "Gut bacteria may have an impact on mental health" (which is perhaps a weird candidate for inclusion in a creative inspiration email, but it reminds me that the most surprising solutions come when you venture beyond your category and area of expertise). Have a great week! Jenny Jenny Nicholson is Group Creative Director at McKinney. She loves books, her bullet journal, and really big ideas.
