Recruitment & Selection

Anyone involved in Recruitment and Selection is required to have completed the University's Recruitment and Selection Training.

Our recruitment & selection training follows 2 routes, one for New Recruiters (attendance at both Foundation and Experienced Workshops) and another for Experienced Recruiters (attendance at the Experienced Workshop).

These bite-sized courses are run approximately every 8 weeks and will give you the knowledge and skills to conduct successful recruitment and selection.

They will cover both the activities prior to interview (from deciding whether or not you have a vacancy to organising the interviews) and how to interview properly.

Find out more about Recruitment & Selection on our Manadatory Training website.

Staff volunteering and Community Challenges

Did you know that as a member of staff, the University will allow teams one paid day in a 12 month period to undertake volunteering in the community?
This one day team event is known as a Community Challenge. You can incorporate it into a team-building exercise as a department.

Community Challenges are a very flexible development tool which should be specifically designed and tailored to meet the needs of a team and the individuals within it.

Is your team inspired to get together to volunteer in the local community?
Volunteering opportunities will normally take place during a working day, and could be straightforward hands-on, practical tasks such as decorating, gardening or organising/assisting with events.

Find out what you could do on our Community Challenges website.
