Spectacular Saturdays and Quality of Life.

This season has proven to be a warm welcome, hasn't it?  I've been thinking of three words that mean something radically different for everyone; quality of life.  How do you define it?  It could mean playing in the leaves with a child without feeling fatigue, cooking a pie for a friend, biking that 40 miles before winter, or just being able to get dressed in the morning without pain.

Recently I attended a workshop in Burlington, VT that targeted cervical spine pain.  I won't go into details about technique, but I was pleasantly surprised at what I took away from the class.  Everyone in the room with me was there to learn how to help their clients recover faster.  We were ALL there not only for our own knowledge, but for our clients' quality of life.

Fast recovery has been a passion of my work for some time now.  I am excited to have developed some genuine relationships with health care practitioners in my neighborhood of Montpelier (and a little beyond:)  Some of you have heard me say "Massage Therapy is only one step of your recovery".  There are many steps.  For some it is only a few, but for the majority of us, it takes patience, will, and guts!  More and more I have witnessed fast recovery from my work complimented with strength training or physical therapy, chiropractic care, acupunture, and proper nutrition.  The list does not end there!  So reward yourself...

The feel better DEAL of the season:

Saturdays are busy! How about taking a break every now and then?  For October, November, and December, why not come in and get $10.00 off a one hour massage on a Spectacular Saturday?* Feel better and schedule ONLINE :)

The feel better TIP of the season:

Awaken with a new habit :)

1. While still under the blankets when you wake, position yourself on your back.

2. Take a breath in, and as you exhale gently bring your knees to your chest.

3. Hold until you feel a little release in the lower spine musculature.

4. Release your knees and stretch your legs long.

5. Point your toes, wiggle them, and breathe deeply to welcome the day.

Here's a glimpse of Little River State Park that I stumbled upon in some spare time. This is such a fabulous season.  Enjoy it, move well, and eat well.  And please don't hesitate to contact me with questions relating to your needs or concerns.

Warmly~Melissa
