October Twenty-Twelve

In the know

We love learning about new trends before they emerge and one that we have seen come to fruition over the past couple of months is known as DIY Health.

Currently the App Store has around 9,000 mobile health apps with the number set to increase to 13,000 later this year. Below we share with you a few of our favourites:

Fitocracy: everyone has a goal they’re trying to reach, and this app will help you work your way towards it.

MyFitnessPal: has the largest food database of any calorie counter (over two million foods), including a fast food and exercise log. There is no better diet app –  it’ll help you shift the extra weight!

Strava Run:  lets athletes all over the world experience 'social fitness'—sharing, comparing and competing with each other's personal fitness data.

Lumosity.com: offers brain training exercises. Regardless of your age, Lumosity helps you stay mentally fit.

Nike+Running:  tracks distance, pace, time and calories burned,  whilst giving you audio feedback as you run. Automatically upload to nikeplus.com to show your route and elevation.

A Fashionable Collaboration

World-acclaimed fashion designer, icon and philanthropist, Diane von Furstenberg is set to hit Australian shores at the end of this month to unveil her personally designed DVF Penthouse on Hayman.

Fortunately Hayman is just a short flight away in Queensland and the DVF Penthouse is big enough to accommodate up to four adults and offers a full Butler Service.

If you can't manage a visit to Hayman, feel free to stop by the Facebook page, it's not the real thing, but the images will certainly take your mind elsewhere even for a second.

New Klicksters

It is always an exciting time for a business when there is a need to expand the team. This month we have added two new Klickstars, one for our Sydney office and one at Klick LA.

Joining Charlotte Crivelli's team in the role of Communications Executive is Stephanie Harnett.

Stephanie has a background in journalism so she is a wonderful asset to our LA team with an insider’s perspective on how to pitch compelling press stories. She’s worked in the newsrooms of The Los Angeles Times and The Huffington Post.

Joining Klick Sydney we have Paul Sargent. Originally from the UK, but now from Australia, Paul has a huge amount of publicity-driven PR experience and has worked on a variety of brands such as Quiksilver, GAME Australia, Guinness, Weightwatchers, and Virgin Mobile.

In the UK Paul was awarded the CIPR PRide Gold Award for Outstanding Young Communicator 2011. That's the equivalent to our PRIA awards.

Welcome Stephanie and Paul.
