Happy Thanksgiving!

A Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Little Flock to you our friends near and far. May you enjoy precious time with the ones you love this Thanksgiving holiday. I will be staying in Nashville this year with Patricia, Brendan and India. I will miss the larger Mayer and O’Reilly gatherings in St. Louis, but schedules are too tight this year to navigate extra travel. I’m thankful for every crazy day, every breath, and I’m throwing in a (hesitant, but) huge thanks this year for the challenges, interruptions, the changes, sent my way that keep me cracked open, like a seed that’s meant to rise and bloom, when I’d much rather stay warm, whole, and comfortably undercover, till I’m good and ready to come out of hibernation. I don’t think we’re meant to get used to these strange “rear view mirror” blessings. I don’t appreciate being lost in new neighborhoods as they’re going by, but I’m thankful when I get to look back and see the unexpected places I’ve been taken and have grown into when it’s been my time to give up the wheel. One warning: Just don’t try to take away my morning oatmeal and coffee or there may be real serious problems.

Stars & Promises 2013 - Follow the Star!

We usually head right into Stars and Promises a day or two after Thanksgiving. This year will be different (speaking of changes), with fewer stops on the tour, and we want you to know we will miss coming to your hometown to play if your town is not on the schedule this year. We promise to be back again soon and…we encourage you to rent a school bus , hail a rickshaw to come and see us at one of the six shows that we will be playing this year. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Advent Season. All my best, PM

Live from the Last Island!

We had an incredible time this year at Meeting of the Minds in Key West, Florida. The whole week was full of musical acts and goings on, all culminating with a music marathon on Saturday with Marshall Chapman, Will Kimbrough, Your’s truly and the PMG, Mac McAnally, an acoustic jam with all the Coral Reefers, Sonny Landreth and his band, and a Coral Reefer all skate to end the night with Nadirah Shakoor, Tina Gullickson, Johnny Lovell, Roger Guth, Jim Mayer, Doyle Grisham and the fabulous Mike Utley and Robert Greenidge.

AND... we recorded our set with the Peter Mayer Group live, with all of you doing your thing, and all of us doing our thing, right out in broad daylight, straight to disc. Don’t miss your chance to get LIVE FROM THE LAST ISLAND, limited copies are now available from Little Flock Music!!!
