New improved Earlier this year we launched the roll-out of our new web filtering migration programme to provide improved stability, scalability and added resilience to our filtering platform. Having reviewed phase one of the programme, learnt from our experiences and listened to your feedback, we have now made considerable improvements to both the filtering platform and the migration process. This Autumn, Phase 2 will see the Netsweeper filtering platform transformed into a truly user-friendly, transparent or in-line proxy, and will bring huge improvements. For schools who have already migrated, we have moved away from deploying explicit proxy settings and IIS is no-longer required. Our new inline filtering solution has allowed us to cut installation times significantly. We have just completed a very successful Alpha test, having worked in close partnership with a focussed set of customers. In preparation for our BETA test, which will scrutinise the advanced functionality of the platform, we are actively recruiting additional customers to join us in this exciting stage of development. To discuss BETA testing opportunities or to find out more please email migrations@schoolsbroadband.co.uk Schools Broadband is approved by DfE We are delighted to announce Schools Broadband has been invited to join the UK’s only national purchasing consortium dedicated to Further Education and Academies. The Crescent Purchasing Consortium, part of the purchasing team at The University of Salford, has invited Schools Broadband to join their National Education Framework. We are the only education specific ISP to be accepted. Having completed a rigorous tender process, we are now fully approved as a Department for Education supplier complying with EU procurement regulations. Being accepted onto the Education Framework means schools will no longer need to obtain comparative quotations as we have already been through a full EU tender process that represents proven value for money on all arrangements. Web Filtering & Firewall Quick Guides This term we will be producing a series of quick configuration guides for you to access on line. If there are any specific areas you would like help with, like how to block and unblock websites for example, please email us at info@schoolsbroadband.co.uk and we will create you a quick guide. All guides produced will be hosted for everyone to access. New Endpoint Protection We are delighted to announce the launch of our new ESET Endpoint Protection.
