Nan Shan Older Adult Center Hosts Mid-Autumn Festival Brunch

On September 13th, CPC Nan Shan Older Adult Center celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival at Royal Queen Restaurant with over 500 community members, partners, and allies. Guests enjoyed dim sum, entertainment, raffles, and free gifts from Resorts World.

Elected officials in attendance included Assembly Members Edward Braunstein and Steven Raga, Council Member Sandra Ung, and representatives from Senator John Liu’s and Congresswoman Grace Meng’s offices.

World Journal Spotlights CPC Community School at PS94 and Back to School Block Party

On September 15th, World Journal covered the school block party co-hosted by PS94 and CPC. The event took place on 51st Street between 5th and 6th Avenue in Sunset Park, bringing together hundreds of community members to celebrate the start of the new academic year and welcome students back to school. It featured free food, raffles, art activities, and community resources.

SinoVision Interviews Norfolk Senior Housing Resident and Highlights the City’s Housing Crisis

On August 28th, SinoVision interviewed Miss Fang, a resident of Norfolk Senior Housing, which is part of CPC One. Miss Fang has lived in New York for 15 years but had been unable to secure senior affordable housing through the city’s lottery system until now. She expressed her gratitude for the community-building activities and benefits application assistance provided by CPC to the residents of this affordable housing building.

On September 5th and 6th, the CPC Education and Career Services team greeted students on their first two days back at school. Staff arrived early with smiles, encouragement, and treats for the students. They also received translation services and guidance to ensure a smooth transition.

CPC and Community  Partners Host Health and Resource Fair at Leif Ericson Park

On September 14th, CPC partnered with community organizations for a Health and Resource Fair at Leif Ericson Park. The event featured dance and tai chi performances that got everyone moving. Attendees participated in informative sessions on flu vaccines and enjoyed fun stretching demos.

Chinatown Older Adult Center Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival with Lucky Draw

On September 4th, CPC Chinatown Older Adult Center celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with a Lucky Draw event. Over 200 community members participated, and 160 goodie bags sponsored by Yao Restaurant were distributed. Each bag contained a mooncake and fresh fruit.

Carlyn Cowen Named to City & State's Albany 40 Under 40 List

On September 9th, Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer Carlyn Cowen was recognized in City & State’s Albany 40 Under 40 list. They helped secured $30 million in state funding for AAPI community organizations and helped win a wage increase for home care workers.

On September 4th, CPC Queens Community Services partnered with Chase to host a Backpack Giveaway for children with special needs. They handed out backpacks filled with essential school supplies to help kids get ready for a successful school year.
