2nd Grade eNews

We learned a lot about storms this week and enjoyed hearing great discussions about them! Be sure and ask your child all about it.

• Bible - We will continue our study of Ruth reading chapters 2-4. Our memory verse will be:
• Verse - Galatians 5:14 “For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
• Reading - We will learn about stories that have a lesson. We will read “How Beaver Got His Stripes.” Our skill for this week will be “Character.” 
• Spelling - We will be working on base words and endings.
• Here are the words for this week:

• Grammar - Verbs in the present tense
• Math - Renaming for addition, Chapter Test 5 over renaming, begin subtraction of 2 digit numbers plus a review of clocks

Who doesn’t love a good cupcake? Join us for a fundraiser TODAY at Bliss Cupcakes until 10 pm! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Shiloh Christian School Playgrounds.  Both Fayetteville (Uptown) Bliss & Rogers (Promenade) Bliss are participating.

It’s almost time for the annual Junior Class FALL CARNIVAL & SILENT AUCTION! Tuesday, October 23rd from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the SEC Gym. There will be games, candy, food & fun – what more could you ask for! $10 wristbands will be sold for unlimited play time.

• October 22 - Flu Vaccines for students
• October 23 - Junior Carnival in the evening from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm in the SEC gym – students may wear non-scary costumes
• October 31 - Picture re-takes
• November 5-9 - Book Fair
