Top of the agenda when Theresa May met Donald Trump was the potential for a UK-US trade deal. But despite talking up the special relationship, an executive order barring refugees and citizens from seven Muslim countries, including Syria, from entering the US overshadowed May's visit. The ensuing chaos saw people refused from flights and others detained at airports. Geoff Gilbert says the order, signed on Holocaust Memorial Day,
ignores basic moral principles about those fleeing persecution. And for our latest Q&A, we asked Liam Thornton about what legal obligations the US has to actually accept refugees.
Jewish World War II prisoners held in Theresienstadt created a thriving culture of concerts, lectures and plays. They were given more freedom because Theresienstadt was a "show ghetto", designed to divert unwelcome questions from outside visitors. Lisa Peschel recently unearthed a series of their plays and they are a unique glimpse into people's hopes, dreams and fears.
We're beginning to understand more about the influence that lifestyle can have on conditions such as Alzheimer's disease. One potential factor is vitamin B1, or thiamine, known to help brain cells stay healthy. Richard Hoffman tells us why B1 is of interest to brain scientists.
All the best.
