IT’S SUMMER IN MINNESOTA! That means weekends spent at the cabin, brats cooked on the grill and time spent exploring our 10,000+ lakes. It means sunshine and sweet corn and the State Fair. Ah, summertime ...

Here at Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates, summer 2011 has also meant the addition of two new employees (Dan Jaeger and Corey Schmitt), an office revamp and the accumulation of frequent-flier miles for several of our staff members. We’ve celebrated milestones with longtime clients (Great Clips), worked closely on new projects (Neuger Communications Group) and continued to build on fantastic professional partnerships (FRCH Design Worldwide).

Read on to learn more about the above, and be sure to check out Dan O’Brien’s great InterKOM about dealing with – and thriving in – change in the workplace. And then get outside and enjoy those blue skies while they last!

Great Clips Salon

Sweep those bangs from your forehead. Grab a scrunchie and put it in a ponytail up high. Tuck it up under a hat. Get crazy and shave it all off and let the sun shine in.

No matter what you prefer to do with your hair during the dog days of summer, longtime KOMA client Great Clips is here to help. In fact, last month the national salon chain opened its 3,000th salon in Albert Lea, Minn. – an achievement made possible in part by designers at Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates.

How did KOMA’s use of a warm color palette, soft light and an appealing product merchandising system help extend the Great Clips Relax” brand to new salons? Read more by clicking hair ... um, here.

News: Out and About

Out and About

From the Gateway to the West, to the heat and humidity of the southeast United States, to a sprawling metropolis on the East Coast and points in between, KOMA employees are on the go and on the move this summer.

KOMA Interior Designer Cindy Douthett Nagel, CID, recently returned from St. Louis, Mo., where she conducted a space verification visit for an American Dental Partners, Inc. (ADPI) affiliate. Similarly, structural engineers Brian Riley and Matt Van Hoof, PE, recently completed two trips alongside partner FRCH Design Worldwide, one to the southeast and one to the East Coast of the U.S. In both instances they conducted preliminary walk-throughs of future restaurant locations.
