Artswork: South East Bridge enews
June 2017

Editorial

Welcome to the latest edition of the South East Bridge enews

It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce Artswork's successful bid to Arts Council England, under their latest round of investments. Our role as a National Portfolio/Sector Support Organisation will now run until March 2022.

With this news comes renewed confidence in the commitment to transform the lives of children and young people through arts and cultural practice, placing them at the heart of all we do. This year sees Artswork celebrating its landmark 30th birthday. With this funding, we can continue to ensure that children and young people get to know more about themselves and the world around them through valuable engagement with arts and culture. We look forward to continuing our work with partner organisations and hope to connect with newly awarded National Portfolio organisations in the near future too.

Alongside this exciting news, we bring you a selection of highlights from the last few weeks, including a case study from the Arts Award Festival Investment work that took place as part of Brighton Photo Biennial, and a recent Artsmark celebration event in Margate.

All of our helpful resources and case studies are available to you free of charge - simply sign up here and register for unlimited access. If you tick the box to register as an ENYAN member as part of this, you will also receive discounted rates on a selection of our Artsplan professional development courses.

Wishing you all a productive month ahead,

We are delighted to announce that Artswork has been successful in its bid to receive continued funding as an Arts Council England National Portfolio/Sector Support Organisation until March 2022, extending our role as Arts Council England’s Bridge organisation for the South East.

"We continue to be inspired by our partnerships with the arts, education and voluntary sectors and relish the challenges and successes that come with a Bridge role and the real impact increased access to the arts and culture can have on the lives of children and young people. Case study | Strike a Pose! Arts Award engagement with families at Brighton Photo Biennial

The Strike a Pose project was created to promote engagement with photography and expand Photoworks’ offer to families, children and young people through an Arts Award delivery pilot for family audiences.

“Working with Brighton Photo Biennial and Brighton & Hove Libraries Service, we wanted to develop a photography workshop for children and young people in the area, with free drop-in Arts Award surgeries taking place throughout the Biennial. From this, we hoped to create a new family database and tailored resources for families through Arts Award engagement.”
