PreK4 eNews

Wow! We can hardly believe that it is already November!  Next week, we will begin our unit on the First Thanksgiving.  We love teaching the children how God was intricately involved in this part of our history.  We also want to focus on being thankful for our many blessings.  All of the Pre-k teachers are so thankful for the children we teach and for their parents!  Thank you for sending your child to Shiloh and allowing us to share our days with your child!

Next Week

  • Bible Verse:“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” Psalm 118:1
  • We will practice this verse during November, you can practice at home too!
  • Bible: The First Thanksgiving
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: we will introduce the letter “Tt” and the sound T makes.
  • Math:  #6, number sense, creating sets
  • Unit: The First Thanksgiving (Although this story is not from God’s Word, we will earn how this event from our history was part of God’s plan)
  • Show and tell: Bring something that begins with the letter and sound of Tt.

Important Dates

  • November 7-14: The Book Fair will be open in the Library 7:45-4:00. Parents are welcome to shop before and after school. 7:45-8:15 and 3:00-4:00.
  • November 14:  Christmas in November - Wear a Christmas sweater, t-shirt, or even Christmas PJs! And Bring $1, $2, or $3 dollars to support Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.
  • November 21-25:  Thanksgiving Break

Reminders

  • On very cold days, we will have the children wait inside the student building during carline.  We will walk children to their cars. This may take just a minute or two longer than on warm days when we can wait outside, but we want to keep the children warm and safe.
  • If you need another car tag, please let your child’s teacher know.  It is very helpful to have the car tags up in the windows until we have marked your child off of the attendance sheet. Thank you for your help.
  • If your child brings his/her lunch, DHS mandates the lunch box must contain:  1 protein, 1 grain, 1 fruit and 1 vegetable OR 2 fruits OR 2 vegetables.  Thank you for your help with this!
