In fact, it’s probably the coolest word you will come across in theatre. You see there is more to a show than just actors and directors, and designers are the long maligned creative group who don’t get the credit (or sometimes criticism) they deserve. In short theatre designers fall into five categories; Lights, Sound, Audio/Visual, Set and Costume, with the final two often paired up by the same person (Choreographers are another barrel of monkeys on top of this)... read more

Das Superpaper Issue 25: Periférico

Guest edited by Ivan Muniz-Reed and Lorena Peña Brito, Periférico looks at ideas of the periphery, taking its name from the monumentally failed ring-road in Mexico City.

The issue traces some of the key developments from the 1990s which positioned contemporary Mexican art on the global art circuit and their subsequent impact on the current milieu of artists; the way in which art production in Mexico responds to the sombre situation that the country faces – a present of violence and political spasm; and the cross pollination of ideas which arise from encounters between artists from both locations and from the convergence between artists and place.

Join them from 6–8pm at Paper Mountain to celebrate the launch of the issue and Das Superpaper's 4th birthday.

This month’s Hussle Hussle features Big Village head honcho RAPAPORT, who will be heading over to Perth for the launch of his new Patterns mixtape. Rapaport is one the most creatively diverse MCs in Australia and co-label manager of Big Village. For the last 8 years Rapaport has contributed extensively to the Sydney hip hop/ arts scene in various groups and artistic projects as an MC, manager, musician and producer.

SPEEKEASY, everybody's favourite hip hop family band. Comprised of Rae, Hyclass and Sammy ,these cousins combined are formidable.

FG, all round rad producer, mc and WAM Song of the Year award winner for the Urban/Hip Hop category, 2012.
