Get the Hollandaise out!

Bury Lane Asparagus

It's here!

Grown in our fields at the back of the farm shop, Bury Lane Asparagus is about as fresh as it can get.  From field to shop in minutes.

It's only an 8 week season, so come and get it while you can.

See a photo of our asparagus in the fields at the back of the shop - click here.

Cooking the asparagus:  Trim the asparagus by bending each stalk near the bottom and discarding the bit where it naturally breaks.  Bring some well salted water to the boil in a shallow wide pan, add the asparagus and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender.

Just as it comes:  Drizzle with basil oil and shave 4-6 thin pieces of parmesan.  Sprinkle with a few Maldon sea-salt flakes and some black pepper.

A classic way:  Buy our ready-made Hollandaise Sauce for a classic accompaniment.

Ham it up:  Parma ham with asparagus is an ideal mixture of tastes and textures.  Either wrap around or shred over.

  • Acer's are abundant and with varying sizes, we are sure you will find what you need at Bury Lane.  It's also a good time to think about Summer Flowering Shrubs such as Lilac and Laburnum.
