NCCD | Case study e-learning

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) team at ESA has worked with Monash University to create two case study e-learning courses. These are based on the outcomes of the Monash University research project, ‘Assessing the Consistency and Accuracy of Teacher Judgements on the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students with Disability’ (2019).

The primary and secondary level courses have recently been published on the NCCD Portal. They are designed to build teacher confidence and understanding of the NCCD model and its practical application, using a diverse range of case studies.

Drones, Data and Digital Technologies – How they all fit together
Wednesday July 29, 2020 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm AEST

Join Clair Allen, Kelly Soenario and Dr. Karen Joyce, along with co-host Martin Richards, as they work through an approach to bringing drones into your school, as part of a digital technologies implementation plan. The session is for schools at the early stages of implementation, as well as those that are looking to review and revise their existing approach.

The Schools Catalogue Information Service (SCIS) free short course Managing your library collection and catalogue is their most popular to date. Student Wellbeing Hub webinars

The Student Wellbeing Hub regularly hosts live online learning events on a range of wellbeing topics.

On Tuesday 7 July, the Hub hosted a webinar for pre-service teachers to engage in open conversations about new and emerging challenges they’ll face as they begin their careers.

Support for educators in the ELLA program

Early childhood teachers registered with the ELLA program have been provided with a series of free online training webinars during the COVID-19 pandemic. This training supports educators’ pedagogical understanding of digital technologies in ways that support children’s meaning-making and learning.

Teachers were provided with ideas and ELLA resources to support language learning through play; both in preschool and for families isolating at home.

The ELLA program consists of a series of play-based interactive apps to support learning an additional language in preschool.
