Our reputation precedes our arrival.
Holly & Smith Architects has served clients from our home base in Hammond for 30 years now, and we’re proud that our work can be found all over the region. Today, we begin a new chapter in the life of our firm with the acquisition of New Orleans-based kmostudio, founded by architect Kevin J. Morris. A talented rising star, Kevin shares our passion for producing meaningful, functional, and beautiful buildings, and for working collaboratively with clients. Kevin will be the H/S ambassador in New Orleans, and with our own studio in the heart of the Crescent City we look forward to deepening and expanding our relationships and creating more work of enduring quality.
Kevin J. Morris, Director, New Orleans Studio: Though Kevin is formally joining H/S in 2010, his ideas and abilities have imbued a number of the firm’s projects for years beforehand. The New Orleans native earned his architecture degree from Louisiana State University in 1995. He previously worked with prominent firms within the New Orleans area over the last 12 years and in 2007 formed his own firm, kmostudio, located in downtown New Orleans. With his zeal for creating distinctive, quality architecture and his talent for collaboration, he quickly built a rapport with H/S. As this relationship grew, Kevin became the natural choice to lead a New Orleans studio for H/S and represent the firm in this market. Clients say his ability to demonstrate complex architectural concepts in straightforward terms helps them feel fully engaged in the design process and fosters a richer
sense of their ownership in the project. For Kevin, building that connection between the client, the designer’s vision and the finished product is the greatest reward.
