Happy spring! Our Getting to Know series continues this April highlighting our staff and offering a glimpse into our studio. We pride ourselves not only on providing excellent massage therapy, but also professional and genuine customer service. And no one is warmer or friendlier among us than Jennifer Mueller...
Where are you from originally?
I was born and raised in Stockton, California, and with a gypsy-like single mother, we moved every year around the state. By the time I was 30, I had moved far more times than I was years old. We moved to Seattle in 1993, in the age of beautiful grunge and flannels and grey weather to accent the alternative rock era.
What brought you to Portland?
I made the move to Portland on my own for college, came back to Seattle after graduating for five more years, and then made the move back to Portland in 2009. My heart literally and figuratively found the happy medium between the three west coast states.
Favorite Restaurant?
Favorite restaurant would be anything Japanese or middle eastern; must have olives, or hummus, or seaweed…
Hobbies or favorite pastimes?
Favorite hobby is my jewelry making; specifically earrings of delight. Favorite ways to spend my time is with loved ones, out in nature, playing with my kitties, and seeing the sibling and nephew in Seattle.
Favorite movie this year?
Not the best with Favorites; I’m an appreciator of foreign, low budget, indie, box office; and nothing really of the scary or horror genre. Some memorable and much appreciated films this year were “Room,” “The Danish Girl,” and “Secret Life of Pets.”
Why did you start practicing massage?
I started practicing massage because it brought me back to earlier days of working on trading massages with my mother. I learned that touch is necessary, and I also recognized massage as being a rare sort of touch.
Blazers, Timbers, or Thorns?
Hmmm…..Blazers
Mountains or the Coast?
I'm equally mountains and coast. That's why I'll never leave the west coast.
Rihanna or Beyonce?
I love them both.
Cats or dogs?
I love ALL animals, but have by far had more cats as living in the city and apartments doesn’t seem as favorable for the canines. Felines for me.
If you could have a super power what would it be?
Super power….being invisible, and thus being able to go through objects and walls; intangibility.
