Thank you to our volunteers Newlyn and Ivy who have been busy collating our Health Professional kits ready for delivery. We have been updating our website too and now have new forms on our Fundraising Page to help make it easy for people to sell merchandise or host an event. Take care, Wendy Groot, CEO Epilepsy Tasmania. Family Movie Event in StrahanWe are very excited to promote the first of our outdoor Tassie movie events - in Strahan! In partnership with Optus, we are touring Tassie with good old-fashioned outdoor family movies - bringing back the good times! On Saturday 24 October from 2 pm for some family fun with prizes before the movie starts at 4 pm. On the oval at Strahan Primary School we will be showing "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" - let's show kids what movies used to be like! Sausage sizzle and popcorn available to purchase. Bookings essential due to COVID-19 restrictions. Book on TryBooking website. $10 a single or $30 for a family. All funds to Epilepsy Tasmania and more locations to come. #walkforepilepsyThis year's Walk for Epilepsy is a virtual event so that more Australians can engage and participate, despite COVID-19 restrictions. It will run for 25 days in October (1st to 25th) because this represents the number of Australians affected by epilepsy (1 in 25). Participants choose their own challenge - walk, run, ride, swim, or a combination - because living with epilepsy can be a challenge. Register for free at www.WalkForEpilepsy.org.au and choose Epilepsy Tasmania as your charity of choice. Tassie Celebrity Fundraising BBQsWe have three exciting BBQ fundraisers being held outside Bunnings in Kingston. On Sunday 4 October, Sunday 18 October, Sunday 8 November please stop by and buy a sausage and see who the surprise celebrity cooks are!!! All proceeds to Epilepsy Tasmania New TV Advert Coming SoonThis week we are filming a new television commercial to increase awareness of the services and support Epilepsy Tasmania offers. Tasmanian Schools Accepted The ChallengeTwenty-three schools around Tasmania (including Flinders Island District High School) participated in our #FingerKnittingChallenge to raise awareness of epilepsy.Their challenge was to:Step 1.
