Click here Update on Recent Policy and Advocacy Efforts As we approach the beginning of the State and City legislative sessions in January, the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) would like to provide an update on recent policy and advocacy efforts. Transition Teams CPC has been appointed to several transition teams. This week, Mayor-elect Eric Adams announced members of his transition team, including CPC President and CEO Wayne Ho as co-lead of the Human Services Committee. Wayne is also on the Mayor-elect Eric Adams and Comptroller-elect Brad Lander's joint task force, Manhattan Borough President-elect Mark Levine's transition committee, and Manhattan DA-elect Alvin Bragg's transition committee.

This was an opportunity to discuss our expectations and priorities for the upcoming legislative sessions. We have also continued to push home care reforms including ending 24-hour shifts and promoting Fair Pay for Home Care. City Advocacy At the City level, we have invited incoming Council Members to visit our programs, learn about the experiences and contexts of our community members, and see the impacts of CPC's human services work themselves. Thank you to incoming Council Members for joining us in site visits and meetings!

Looking Ahead to 2022 These recent appointments and efforts are a reflection of how CPC’s impact on social services and racial equity have resonated over the last 56 years and every day among AAPI, immigrant, and low-income communities. It's a great reminder that our policy and advocacy efforts do not go unnoticed, and CPC’s continued work with elected officials to prioritize the needs of AAPI and immigrant communities can make a difference. Thank you for your support and engagement on these activities! We look forward to keeping you engaged on our activities in the year ahead! ABOUT CPC 關於華策會 |
