3.5GHz Band – Early Access Rights Offered

Direct allocation process being completed.

A direct allocation process was undertaken for short-term, early access rights in the 3.5 GHz band for 5G services following the May 2020 cancellation of Auction 20. Offers of 40 MHz to Dense Air, 60 MHz to Spark, and 60 MHz to 2degrees were forwarded to the respective telecommunication companies.

See Preparing for 5G in New Zealand for more information.

Call for expressions of interest in FM sound broadcasting licences.

Applications have been received for the following FM broadcasting spectrum licences:

  • Richardson Road (Gore District) 104.0 MHz, licence ID 215908, reserve price: $6,558 incl. GST.
