Scootle user research

Education Services Australia is seeking Scootle users' feedback, ideas and opinions on two national projects:

  • developing an online information and ideas exchange that will help teachers across the country to share their ideas and experiences in implementing the Australian Curriculum, to stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies and to access current education articles and information
  • ensuring that the Scootle website  remains useful, relevant and valuable to Australian teachers.

We invite you to complete an online survey by selecting this link, or by copying and pasting this URL into your browser: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SACOLteachersurvey

The confidential survey should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. It does not have to be completed in one sitting, you can re-enter the survey at any time to update and complete your responses as long as you use the same computer.

Please complete the survey before Friday 11 May.

National Professional Standards for Teachers

The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) published the National Professional Standards for Teachers website  in February 2012..

The National Professional Standards for Teachers is a framework that describes the professional knowledge, professional practice and professional engagement that teachers require across their careers. The Standards define and provide examples of high-quality, effective teaching.

The National Professional Standards for Teachers website includes:

  • the capacity to search for Standards by domain or career stage
  • information collated from teachers on how the Standards can be implemented in the classroom
  • exemplars of teacher practice mapped to the Australian Curriculum, including videos
  • social networking connections to encourage a national dialogue.

Teachers and professional associations can upload and share content related to the Standards and professional practice.

  • 'Thanks very much for your prompt reply. It is most helpful.'
  • 'Success! You have one very happy and relieved teacher. Thanks so much!'
  • 'Thank you, thank you so very much for all your assistance. I have now logged in successfully and can't wait to go exploring!'
