The Victorian government plans to teach its Respectful Relationships program to preschoolers as a way to prevent sexist behaviour among young children. But can a four year old be sexist? The short answer is yes – but not knowingly. As Kimberley Norris puts it: “Their intention is to make sense of their world and how they fit in it – not to hurt or disempower others.”
