Dallas in April ... I teamed up with my friends at Lifetime Adoptions to present at the Heartbeat Conference in Dallas. Our topic for this workshop was post-placement support for birthparents.
Listen to our presentation here.
Louisville in May ...
In May, we teamed up with my local network of Obria/Real Options Medical Clinics to present a new workshop at CAFO! Our attendees very actively participated in the discussion about how we can successfully raise the topic of adoption in pregnancy clinics. The attendees also offered positive feedback to the conference organizers. We hope that society will start to do a better job -- and do more -- to spread the word about adoption as an option for women facing unplanned pregnancy, and then to support them better after they choose adoption. Special thanks to my partner on this project, Valerie N!

Thought for the Day: Is this Progress??
Increased overregulation limits domestic adoption: gov't regulators are thriving as they tell agencies how to operate at the expense of adoptions. Politics limits international adoption with both Russia and China stopping or limiting the opportunities for American couples to adopt. Yet most Americans are in favor of adoption. With advocates like these, who needs enemies? Read more.
Adoption Story from Birthmom DominiqueI met Dominique at CAFO in Dallas last year when she served on our birthmom panel. This year she'll be at CAFO on the main stage! Read her story on our site.
The one thread that runs through every birthparent story I've ever read is that it was the most difficult decision ever, but made from the most profound love.
Please, be ready to advocate for adoption 24/7, any time the opportunity presents itself!

A Reference Guide for Families Here’s a guide to open adoption and how to make it work, from the match period through common post-adoption bumps. It includes tips on how to keep the
focus on the child’s best interests.
DID YOU KNOW? - Fewer than 0.5% of women facing unplanned pregnancy make an adoption plan?
- When they do, it's because an adult in their life encouraged them to consider adoption?
- There are over one million U.S. couples waiting now to adopt?

Why are we doing this?
Young women are 50% more likely to make an adoption plan when the trusted adult in their life suggests it to them. Otherwise, most girls don't give it a minute's thought, and choose between abortion or single parenting. That's why we need to get this on the radar of more people.
