At this year's seminar, the first day will begin with a series of education modules held by this year’s gold sponsors and NZX.

Peter Turk started his career in the commodities industry at Staley Commodities, an agricultural clearing firm. He served a variety of roles in the industry, before joining Rice Dairy in 2005. During the past ten years, Turk and co-owner Brian Rice have grown the company into the leading brokerage firm in the dairy industry, offering consulting and brokerage services along with information products and educational resources. Turk is also the co-director of Rice Dairy International Ltd., a Partner at Vault Technologies, a dairy software start-up, and a Principal of Dairy Opportunities, an award-winning investment management firm.

Brian Fletcher focuses on strategy development and implementation of price-risk management for dairy commodities. He works with a wide range of clients from around the world that encompass the entire dairy supply chain. Brian is a registered floor broker and key team member of Rice Dairy’s over-the-counter, electronic futures and options markets’ operations. His research and analysis focuses on global dairy product prices using a relative value of dairy fat and protein approach. Brian also co-authors the Fat and Protein Wire, an e-newsletter that provides a weekly recap of milk and dairy prices.

 
 
 
 
 
Rice Dairy, Research Analyst, Yuyang Zhang
 

As an analyst, Yuyang dives deep into dairy financial data, from volume and open interest on various exchanges to OTC trades from all three swap data repositories. She also explores the Chinese dairy markets, and assists with customer services. Part of Robert’s responsibilities as Vice President and Head of the INTL FCStone’s Foods Division is traveling to speak about dairy and grain market forecasts, while educating the industry on hedge strategies, and most importantly, margin management.

Nick joined NZX in February 2016. He previously worked for BNZ holding a variety of foreign exchange roles, including as an Institutional Foreign Exchange dealer. Prior to this he worked for Medley Global Advisors as a macro-economic analyst focused on central bank policy. At NZX Nick heads the derivatives markets, including dairy commodity and equity derivatives. Nick also sits on the Global Dairy Trade Oversight board as a board member and representative for financial markets.
