Online entries close at 5pm on Thursday 19th January for the Doctor and Finn Kayaks Coastal Challenge. You can enter on Friday evening at Sorrento Beach SLSC at the registration for both events or on race day for the Finn Kayaks Coastal Challenge.

Important Notes

• Flares, solid PFD's and Leashes are compulsory.
• We have sold out of flares. Please visit your local ship chandler / boating store to purchase one.
• Do not take anything other than what you are paddling in or what can be thrown away on Rottnest. Please ensure you use rubbish bins at Rottnest.
• Please note that the Doctor race will definitely be held on Saturday 21st January

Registration - Friday evening

All competitors must attend the registration and briefing on Friday evening at Sorrento Beach SLSC from 6pm - 8pm to collect timing chips and rego bags. Race briefing will be at approx 7pm. Sorrento SLSC will be putting on a Pasta Meal and bar menu will be available. 

Craft Transport
If you need your ski transported to Rottnest Island and have not yet booked please ensure you do so ASAP. You can do this during the online entry process.

All craft will be loaded on the barge on Friday afternoon at:
16 Mews Rd, Fremantle
The time will be confirmed as soon as we have this information as it is dependent on the barge company. Please check the Program page on the website for updates. 

• All rudders from skis and OC1s must be removed prior to loading
• All fins from SUP's must be removed prior to loading
• Bring straps to tie your craft on
• Bring some light padding to the barge such as old bits of foam etc
• If you take your craft in a cover you must arrange for the cover to be taken back to the mainland yourself. We will not be taking anything back to the mainland for you.

Ferry to Rottnest – Get the early ferry!
We strongly  encourage all competitors to get the early ferry across to Rottnest. Rottnest Fast Ferries depart Hillarys Marina at 7.15am. We want all competitors on Rottnest as early as possible as the start time may vary depending on conditions and shipping movements. We will also need your help to unload your craft from the barge.  Call Rottnest Fast Ferries to book your ticket on 08 9246 1039. Mention you are a Doctor competitors to receive the special rate.

On Rottnest you can relax and enjoy breakfast at Aristos Waterfront Rottnest. They are offering Doctor Competitors a special breakfast menu. Check the Program page on website for menu and location. Subway Rottnest are also offering competitors 10% off.

Support Boats following the race
If you have a support boat that is following the race you need to let us know so we can advise Fremantle Ports. Please email us the skippers name and phone number to contact@oceanpaddler.com
