2nd Grade eNews

What a great week! Isn’t fall a great time of year?  We will continue our apple unit next week. Thanks for all the wonderful apple pies! That was so much fun! We are excited about our field trip! Please see the separate email for details if you have any questions.

Next Week

  • Bible - We will continue our study on Joshua. This week we will look at Joshua chapters 23-24 and learn more about how to follow God.
  • Verse - Joshua 24:14 “Therefore, fear the Lord and worship Him in sincerity and truth.”
  • Reading - We will have a story on “Ugly Vegetables.” We will be talking about apples and some other fruits and vegetables in our science unit also. Our reading skill this week will be Conclusions.
  • Spelling - We are working on double consonants and ck.

  • Math - Calendars, Chapter 4 test over time and calendars, addition of 2 digit numbers, expanded form

VIP Alumni Tailgate

Last call for Shiloh alumni! We are hosting our first VIP Alumni Tailgate on Friday, October 12th from 5-7pm before the Football Homecoming Game.  Come and enjoy great food, family entertainment, free admission to the game and an alumni t-shirt!   • October 12 - Homecoming Party – 1:50 on World Playground with Pep Rally to follow in the SEC gym. Dismissal at car lines may be a little later than usual.

  • Please check with your child’s teacher to sign up for a conference time
  • October 22 - Flu Vaccines for Students
  • October 23 - Junior Carnival from 5:00-7:00

Reminders

  • Please remember that state law prohibits the use of cell phones in a school zone – that includes parking lots. We want to ensure the safety of our students during car line.
  • Please be sure to write your child’s name in his/her jacket. Please remember we will go outside unless it is raining, so be sure your child is prepared for cold weather.
