Meet the Candidates on April 14th!

DISTRICT 2 – U.S. CONGRESSIONAL
CANDIDATE FORUM

U.S. Congressional candidates for the newly drawn District 2 U.S. Representative Seat will participate in a candidate forum at the upcoming North Central Florida Tea Party meeting.
All candidates have been invited. Jeff Moran, Ken Sukhia, and Mary Thomas have accepted. Our meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14th, the candidates will be there at 6:00 p.m. for interaction prior to the forum. This is a great way to get to know the candidates! We need strong representatives in Washington D.C.; people who will uphold their oath to the Constitution and stand up against all efforts to step outside of those boundaries. The North Central Florida Tea Party strives to “vet” all candidates prior to an election. Please invite your friends and neighbors!

Fund Raiser - Gun Raffle

We have begun our 5th annual gun raffle, and our main fundraiser for the year. This year’s gun is a Ruger 9E 9MM. The drawing will be held at the Branford River Reunion on July 4th. We need people to buy tickets, people to sell tickets, and places to put tickets (small businesses) for sale (If we had 10 people who could each find two businesses to put tickets and each of those businesses could sell five books of tickets, that alone would raise $5,000!. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS! We use this money to help fund the expenses of the American Patriot News, buy the U.S. Constitutions to distribute in the middle schools during Constitution week, help support Liberty First Network in Tallahassee, and other tea party expenses. What Can You Do?

Are you concerned about the direction that our country is heading? Do you think that both the Republicans and the Democrats are not following the Constitutional limitations they swore an oath to?

Here are some things you can do:

1) Keep up with the bills being debated in the Florida Legislature (when it is in session) and the U.S. Congress. Let your elected representatives know how you would like them to vote on these bills.

2) Do your best to vet the candidates. Attend meetings where they are speaking so that you can get to know them better. Hold their feet to the fire when it comes to what you expect of them if they are elected.

3) Get involved with a local group. Our tea party is always looking for people who can help with all the different activities that we are involved in. It takes a lot of time and effort to keep a group going.

4) Share this newsletter with people you know are just as concerned as you are! Invite them to our meetings, ask them to get involved!

5) Attend your local County Commission, School Board, and City Council meetings. This is where we can make the biggest impact. These are the people who affect our lives directly by their decisions. Make sure your local elected officials know where you stand and what you expect of them!

What Is the North Central Florida Tea Party? What Do We Do?

The North Central Florida Tea Party is a group of citizens who are concerned about where our nation is heading. We are a grassroots, non-partisan group opposed to wasteful deficit spending and infringement of our natural rights. We do have a well-defined and uniform slate of principles on which we center our advocacy and support for political candidates. These principles include, first and foremost, advocating for Essential Liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and the promotion of free-enterprise, national defense, and traditional American values. Our goals are to educate ourselves on the issues facing us today, act on what we learn, and motivate other like-minded people to become involved. Find a way to become part of the solution instead of just complaining about the problems! The Tea Party is simply a loose description of local activism driven by Americans who want smaller government and more self-reliance. That sounds like what the Founding Fathers had in mind, does it not?

Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future
