The UN has repeatedly urged the world’s richer nations to eat less meat for the sake of the planet. Seán McCorry believes that Okja – a new film from Netflix about the friendship between a young girl and a “new” pig-like creature bred for sustainability – may help its audiences make up their minds as it challenges the ethics of killing animals for food.

Turkey’s ban on teaching evolution in schools has highlighted once again creationists’ misunderstanding of science.
