Foundation Funds New and Innovative Blue Voice Technology

The Juno Beach Police Foundation is proud to fund a three year subscription to Blue Voice, a groundbreaking AI-powered platform designed by first responders, for first responders. This cutting-edge tool allows Officers to speak or type questions and receive rapid, accurate answers sourced exclusively from department-approved documents.

Blue Voice gives Officers real-time access to critical information — including Town ordinances, County codes, State laws, departmental policies, first aid procedures, and local resource directories — all at their fingertips. Whether on a mobile device, tablet, or in-car terminal, the software provides answers quickly and reliably, helping Officers make informed decisions in the field.

Unlike general search engines, Blue Voice only accesses content that has been input and authorized by the Department, ensuring both accuracy and security. There is no impact on the Town's IT infrastructure, and no additional training costs are anticipated.

Developed in 2023 by a team from Harvard and MIT, Blue Voice incorporates machine learning to improve results over time, highlight key passages, and generate anonymized analytics to support training and policy development. By supporting this innovative initiative, the Police Foundation is helping to reduce risk, save time, and improve outcomes for Officers and the community alike.

Father Arthur Venezia Joins Police Chaplaincy Team

The Juno Beach Police Department recently announced the appointment of Father Arthur Venezia as its Roman Catholic chaplain. Father Art, who now serves in retirement, previously spent 27 years as Pastor of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church in North Palm Beach — a parish that also serves many in the Juno Beach community. He joins Rabbi Berel Namdar of the Chabad of Singer Island, who also serves as a volunteer chaplain.

In their role, the Chaplains provide spiritual and emotional support to Officers and staff, offer guidance during times of stress or crisis, and serve as a comforting presence at critical incidents. The Juno Beach Police Foundation welcomes Father Art and supports this meaningful addition to the department's wellness and outreach efforts.

The Police Department and the Police Foundation also extend their heartfelt thanks to Pastor Emily Denmark McGee formerly of the Oceanview United Methodist Church, who served as a dedicated Police Chaplain for many years. We wish Pastor Emily well in all her future endeavors.

Annual Blue Mass to Honor Law Enforcement and First Responders

The Diocese of Palm Beach invites all active and retired law enforcement personnel, along with their families and friends, to attend the annual Blue Mass on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola (9999 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410).

This interfaith service honors and recognizes the dedicated service of law enforcement Officers and emergency personnel of all faiths across the five-county diocese — Palm Beach, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee. It is held annually on the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel, the patron saint of law enforcement and first responders.

Local, state, and federal agencies are all encouraged to attend, and uniformed participation is welcome and appreciated. Families of Officers, especially those who have fallen in the line of duty, are warmly invited to join in this solemn and meaningful tribute.

Following the service, attendees are invited to a reception with light refreshments in the parish hall — a time for fellowship and gratitude among colleagues, family, and community.

Please mark this event on your calendar, more information will follow in next month's issue of the newsletter.

We look forward to honoring the brave men and women who serve and protect us each day.

Lock It or Lose It

Each month, Chief Smith shares the same important reminder with Juno Beach residents: Lock your car and remove all valuables. It appears to be working!

Across Palm Beach County, many stolen vehicle cases are traced back to one simple mistake — the keys were left inside the car. Leaving laptops, phones, bags, or other valuables in plain view also increases the chance of a break-in.

Thanks to our community's vigilance, Juno Beach has a very low rate of stolen vehicle reports — and we want to keep it that way.

If you see suspicious activity or individuals, don't hesitate: call 9-1-1 immediately. As Chief Smith often says, "protection from theft begins with you."
