CPC Corporate Social Responsibility Leadership Award Honoree

Pat Wang

Pat Wang, joined Healthfirst in 2008 as its President & CEO. Under her leadership, Healthfirst has grown in revenue and membership to become one of the largest not-for-profit health insurance providers in the country and provides comprehensive health insurance to more than 1.8 million New Yorkers, including one-third of NYC’s Medicaid population.

Prior to joining Healthfirst, Pat was part of the executive leadership team at the Greater New York Hospital Association where she helped create Healthfirst with a consortium of hospitals and health systems in 1993.  

In 2023, Pat was appointed to Governor Kathy Hochul’s newly formed New York State Commission on the Future of Health Care to address the state’s health challenges. She is a Director of the New York Federal Reserve Bank and the Alliance for Health Policy and plays an active role on the Boards of America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and the New York Health Plan Association (NYHPA). She also served as a member of the Medicaid Redesign Team II as well as co-chair of the State’s Vaccine Equity Taskforce.  

Pat is a graduate of Princeton University and New York University School of Law, cum laude. She has lived in Yugoslavia, Taiwan, and China and is a longtime resident of New York City. Her commitment to the relationship between Healthfirst and CPC for Medicaid and Long-Term Care members is reflected in the ongoing collaboration on outreach initiatives aimed at educating the community about health and wellness and expanding access to health insurance.

CPC's 59th Annual Lunar New Year Benefit will take place on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at House of Joy.
